VS switch to opened file when opened from outside VS

This is not a major thing, but I noticed if I open a saved existing file from within VS (File>Open) VS jumps over to that file right away when it opens.
If I have a VS file in a folder and I double click to open it - when it opens in VS, it does not jump right to it. It's opened as a tab to click on

@Boldline Tried this here (with three already opened documents, I go to the Finder and double-click an existing .vstyler file), and the app opens and displays it directly — no need to click its tab to see it.
Are these the correct steps?
