Regression with 1.2.075 : pencil shapes disappear
-
I just tried last release (thanks for the stroke width persistence feature !) and found a regression
- use Pencil tool to draw a shape
- use Transform tool to move the shape
- the shape disappears
-
@EricP I tried to replicate this (also had similar settings and panels opened), but it seems to work here.
Can you send me your workspace files? (Help menu -> Reveal Workspace)
Also (after sending the files): reset the workspace and try again.
-
@EricP Additional questions:
what happens in the Layers panel when dragging with the transform tool?
also: the same with the History panel, what kind of changes show up?
-
sure, here is a recording of layer and history panels : https://somup.com/cTirlDNrfG
here are the workspace files 0_1753101486265_workspace Archive.zip

I checked on a different mac and don't get the issue on the other mac (running Sequoia 15.5)
I restarted my first mac (running Sequoia 15.1.1) and still get the issueI loaded default workspace and still get the issue
-
@EricP Can be replicate here also using the workspace.
I will try to find out which setting causes this, and upload a fix ASAP.
-
@EricP temporary workaround: turn off the Preview Pencil option in Settings -> Direct Preview.
-
@VectorStyler thank you
another regression is that the "Object Role" shortcut icon no longer works. I can use the object menu to change the object role, but no longer the icon
-
@EricP Another workaround: disable the Eraserr option for the Pencil tool (context panel)
-
@VectorStyler thanks for 076 update. That was fast !
both issues are resolvedout of curiosity, what is direct preview doing ? I did not notice any change when I disabled it or re-enabled it

When direct preview is enable, drawing or changing shows the complete preview of the object (with styles and all).
When disabled, drawing or changing shows an outline preview and the actual change is applied only when the mouse is released.In case of the Pencil tool: with direct preview you can see small changes on already painted parts of the path as you draw, depending on the smoothness level.
If direct preview is disabled, these changes are visible only after you release the mouse.

@VectorStyler thank you. That makes sense
