Regression when placing images

When I import an image, if I click and drag the resulting placed image will be cropped. It has extra white spaces either on the sides or top and bottom. I have to push on the middle transform handles of the frame to adjust in order to get it to look right. Note that if I import and just click without dragging, the image is placed correctly minus the extra white spaces.
I started noticing this behaviour since VS 1.2.077.
